TOWSON, Md.- Sophomore defensive specialist Katie Byrne (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) was named the Landmark Conference Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Week on Monday. This is the first weekly recognition of her career.

Byrne was a solid contributor for the Eagles this past week. She totaled 67 digs in four matches with a high of 28 against Division II Clarion on Tuesday. In a Landmark win over E-Town on Saturday, she had two service aces and 10 digs as the Eagles defeated the Blue Jays 3-0.

On the season, she has 299 digs and is averaging just over five digs per set. She ranks third in the Landmark in overall digs and tied for second in digs per set.
