Women’s Volleyball Tops Landmark Preseason Poll

Women’s Volleyball Tops Landmark Preseason Poll

TOWSON, MD.- For the 10th year in a roll, there is no doubt which team lands atop the Landmark Women's Volleyball Preseason Poll. Juniata was the nearly unanimous pick to once again claim the conference title.

The Eagles received a total of 60 points in the 2016 poll and six first place votes. Last year's runner up, Susquehanna, was second with 45 points and one first place vote.

Juniata returns a solid veteran group in 2016 led by Landmark Conference player of the Year Kelly Reynolds (Upper Saint Clair, Pa./Upper Saint Clair). Fellow seniors Nakita Gearhart (Waynesboro, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) and Mar-Jana Phillips (Carson, Calif./Rolling Hills Prep) also return. Sophomore Katie Bryne (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck), last year's Rookie of the Year, will look to build on her impressive freshman year.

JC begins its 2016 season this weekend in Potsdam, N.Y. at the Clarkson Invitational. The Eagles will play Roger Williams and SUNY Brockport on Friday afternoon at 2:30 and 6:30 p.m.
