Moroney Named Landmark Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, MD – Sophomore middle hitter Megan Moroney (Mentor, OH / Mentor) was named the Landmark Conference's women's volleyball athlete of the week for her dominating performance at the Leopard Invitational this past weekend.

Moroney recorded 39 kills on 67 attacks to average a .537 hitting percentage over the weekend. Her play led the Eagles past Whittier 3-0, UC Santa Cruz 3-0 and No. 20 La Verne 3-1.

The middle hitter averaged 3.9 kills per set and also recorded nine total blocks (three solo, six assists). 

She was named to the Leopard Invite's All-Tournament team.

Moroney leads the Eagles in kills this season with 194. On the season, she averages 2.85 kills per set and a .346 hitting percentage.

This is Moroney's second career Landmark AOTW honors. Her first came in her freshman season when she helped lead the team clinch a conference tournament berth.
