Juniata Wraps Up Regular Season With 3-0 Victory over Washington & Lee

ATLANTA, GA – The Juniata women's volleyball team (29-2, 7-0 Landmark) ended their regular season with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 26-24) win over the Washington and Lee Generals Saturday afternoon at the Emory Invitational. 

The Eagles were led by sophomore middle hitter Megan Moroney (Mentor, OH / Mentor). Moroney finished the match with 11 kills, a .588 hitting percentage, one service ace and three block assists. Moroney was named to the Emory Invitational's All-Tournament team for her play this weekend.

Senior outside hitter Kristin Collins (Freedom, PA / Ambridge) recorded four kills on nine attacks for a .444 hitting percentage.

Junior outside hitter Mar-Jana Phillips (Carson, CA / Rolling Hills Preparatory) finished the game with eight kills and one block assist. Junior outside hitter Brittanie Tannenbaum (Highlands Ranch, CO / Highlands Ranch) picked up seven kills against the Generals. Junior middle hitter Nakita Gearhart (Waynesboro, PA / Greencastle-Antrim) rounded out the offensive effort with six kills. 

The Eagles served a tough game against Washington and Lee. Sophomore outside hitter Christine Irwin (State College, PA / State College) served up four service aces, while senior opposite Bryce Arnold (Shippensburg, PA / Shippensburg Area) continued the effort and picked up three. Arnold also recorded 10 digs in the match.

Junior setter Kelly Reynolds (Upper Saint Clair, PA / Upper Saint Clair) finished the match with 30 assists.

The Eagles return home for Landmark Conference postseason where they face off against the Catholic Cardinals Wed. Nov. 4 at 7:00pm.
