TOWSON, MD- Sophomore middle hitter Nakita Gearhart (Waynesboro, PA/Greencastle-Antrim) was named the Landmark Conference Women’s Volleyball Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon. It is her first honor of the season and of her career.

Gearhart finished last week with 22 kills, eight digs, and six total blocks as Juniata won both of its matches on Saturday. She had a 13 kill, four dig, and three block performance against Otterbein and followed that with nine kills, four digs, and three assisted blocks as the Eagles upset seventh ranked Mount Union 3-2. Gearhart averaged 2.44 kills per set through the two matches and racked up a .302 hitting percentage.

In kills, Gearhart is third on the Eagles with 196. She is also third on the team in total blocks with 50 and leads in solo blocks with 14.
