LEXINGTON, KY – The 2014-15 Juniata women's volleyball team received a Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Wednesday.

The AVCA set a new record for the number of teams receiving this honor this year with 752 teams. The number of teams accepting honors has grown immensely since the award was created in 1992. In the inaugural season, just 62 teams were recognized. 

The award is given to teams that display excellence and discipline in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA. Division III earned a total of 140 AVCA Team Academic Awards this year.
