HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College women's volleyball head coach Heather Pavlik has added a seventh commitment to the class of 2018. Megan Moroney (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) will join the previous six commitments as new Eagles in the fall.

"Megan is a very physical player who possesses very good jumping ability and body control," said Pavlik. "She hits a heavy ball and will certainly make a great addition to our gym. She has been very well coached in both high school and with her club and has played with and against very good players. Her skills should translate to the collegiate setting very well and I am looking forward to having her in my gym and watching her development over the next four years."

Moroney was a four-year player and three-year letterwinner in volleyball at Mentor High School. The middle blocker helped guide the team to a District 2 championship in 2011 and a Northeast Ohio Conference championship in 2013. Moroney was named Mentor volleyball team captain in 2012 and 2013 and earned First-Team Northeast Ohio Conference both years. In 2012 she was chosen as a member of the Gilmour Invitational All-Tournament team and was twice named team Offensive Player of the Year, in 2012 and 2013. The four-year scholar athlete honoree was also named a first-team District 2 All-Star and Lake County News Herald first-team member in 2013.

As a member of the Eastside Cleveland Junior Elite National Team she participated in three national tournaments. In 2014 she was named to the North Coach Power League All-Tournament team. Moroney will look to study math and business at Juniata.
