Juniata No. 14 in Final AVCA Top-25 Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Juniata College women's volleyball team closes out the season No. 14 in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 poll of the 2013 season, the organization announced Tuesday. The Eagles finished the year 31-5 overall and 1-1 in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

 

Juniata climbed six spots from its preseason ranking of No. 20. The Eagles spent eight weeks in the top-10 during the season, including a peak of No. 7 in week three. Juniata won its seventh consecutive Landmark Conference title and qualified for its 33rd NCAA tournament appearance this year.

 

The Eagles placed four players on the AVCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region team and head coach Heather Pavlik was named Regional Coach of the Year. Juniata also notched its first AVCA First-Team All-American since 2010.
