There were 75 student-athletes who participated in the 136th Annual Commencement on Saturday, May 17 to receive their degrees.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College women’s volleyball head coach Heather Pavlik has added a seventh commitment to the class of 2018. Megan Moroney (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) will join the previous six commitments as new Eagles in the fall.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College women’s volleyball head coach Heather Pavlik has announced the hiring of former Transylvania University head coach, and Juniata men’s volleyball player, Casey Dale as the new women’s team assistant. Former assistant Steph Strauss accepted the position of assistant at Navy earlier this month. Dale returns to his alma mater after five seasons as the head coach of the Pioneers and two seasons as the women’s assistant at Washington and Lee University.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College women’s volleyball head coach Heather Pavilk has announced the six committed student-athletes that will make up the class of 2018. Katie Dickins (Claremont, Calif./Vivian Webb), Karly Grimes (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport), Rachel Harris (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory), Christine Irwin (State College, Pa./State College), Lydia Mueller (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle), and Chelsea Scafuro (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) will be wearing the blue and gold as Eagles next season.

    SEATTLE, Wash. – Last month, Juniata College women’s volleyball senior Rachelle Wiegand (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Coaches 4 Coaches (C4C) scholarship. The scholarship allows new or aspiring coaches to attend their first AVCA convention. This week, Wiegand joined over 2,000 volleyball coaches in Seattle, Wash., to attend seminars and panels discussing a broad range of issues and advancements in coaching today.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – For the 33rd consecutive year, the Juniata College women’s volleyball team qualified for the NCAA Division III National Tournament. The Eagles spent eight weeks in the top-10 of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) national poll and finished the season No. 14. Juniata earned an overall 31-5 record, claiming its seventh consecutive Landmark Conference title, and completed the programs 33rd 30 wins season – the first since 2010.

    CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Four members of the Juniata College women’s volleyball team have been named to the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South volleyball All-Star teams, the organization announced last night. Freshman Kelly Reynolds (Upper Saint Clair, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) was named Rookie of the Year and classmate Nakita Gearhart (Waynesboro, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) was named a first-team member. Senior Amy Miller (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) and junior Amelia Kepler (Kane, Pa./Kane Area) both garnered second-team accolades.

    TOWSON, Md. – At the end of each season the Landmark Conference announces the Academic Honor Roll recognizing student-athletes that have reached sophomore standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher. This year, Juniata has placed 40 student-athletes on the fall honor roll, up from 37 on year ago.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – After one of its most successful fall seasons in school history, Juniata College athletics leads the Landmark Conference President’s Cup standings with 40.5 points. The total is eight points higher than where the Eagles were after last fall and one point ahead of Susquehanna University.

The Eagles finished the year 31-5 overall and 1-1 in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The No. 8 Juniata College women’s volleyball team fell 3-2 (18-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-20, 15-12) to No. 21 Stevenson University in the NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Tournament regional semi-finals, Saturday night in Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center. The Eagles finish the season 31-5 overall.

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The No. 8 Juniata College women’s volleyball team grinded through its NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Tournament first round matchup with Gallaudet University and came away with the 3-1 (25-23, 25-19, 19-25, 25-14) win. In the first home NCAA tournament match in the careers of all current Juniata players, the Eagles didn’t disappoint the home crowd, advancing to the second round where they will face Stevenson University tomorrow, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m.

    LEXINGTON, Ky. – Four members of the Juniata College women’s volleyball team were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region team, the organization announced this afternoon. Freshman Nakita Gearhart (Waynesboro, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim), junior Amelia Kepler (Kane, Pa./Kane Area), senior Amy Miller (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch), and freshman Kelly Reynolds (Upper Saint Clair, Upper Saint Clair) are all receiving their first AVCA All-Region honors. Head coach Heather Pavlik was also named the Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year.

The No. 9 Juniata College women’s volleyball team earned its seventh consecutive Landmark Conference title last weekend and was named the number one seed in the Huntingdon, Pa. Regional.

The Eagles earned their seventh consecutive Landmark title finishing with a perfect 7-0 mark in conference play, including tournament wins over The University of Scranton in the semifinals and Susquehanna in the championship. Junior Amelia Kepler (Kane, Pa./Kane Area) was named tournament Most Valuable Player.

After two first-round matches Tuesday night, the championship field has been set, with the top four seeded teams advancing. No.1 Juniata College and No. 2 Susquehanna University, both earned first round byes while No. 3 Catholic University of America and No. 4 The University of Scranton knocked off their first-round opponents to advance to the semifinal round.
