HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata women's volleyball team is giving up its Saturday mornings for a good cause.  The Eagles volunteer their time to facilitate the Huntingdon Community Center Junior High Volleyball clinic at the DuBois Business College Gym.  The clinic, intended for girls in grades 6-8, runs Saturdays from Feb. 2–March 2.

"We started helping my senior year of college," said Juniata women's volleyball assistant coach Steph Strauss ('11).  "There is no middle school volleyball in this whole area, so we're trying to fill that need with the kids clinic by at least teaching them the fundamentals, so when they get to ninth grade and high school, they're not starting from scratch."

For just $20, the participants learn the basic offensive and defensive skills necessary to create a great volleyball foundation.  It is open to the region and includes a clinic T-shirt and an opportunity to interact with college players.

"Williamsburg is here, Mount Union, Juniata Valley," said Strauss.  "It's all the surrounding areas, not just Huntingdon."

For more information or to register for the clinic, visit the Huntingdon Community Center website at http://www.huntcommunitycenter.org/volleyball.html.
