No. 23 Eastern Upsets Eagles 3-0, Kepler Named to All-Tournament Team

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – No. 21 Juniata women's volleyball team could not find an answer for No. 23 Eastern University's hot offensive attack Saturday night as the Eagles fell 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-18) in the Wid Guisler Invitational finale.  Juniata (20-10) finished 1-2 in the tournament while Eastern (22-5) ended the weekend 2-1.

Sophomore Amelia Kepler (Kane, Pa./Kane Area) represented Juniata on the All-Tournament team.  She finished the weekend with a .314 hitting percentage and earned two solo blocks.  She put down 10 kills with zero errors in the Eagles 3-0 win over Heidelberg earlier today and has committed only five attack errors combined in the past three matches.

The Eagles hit the road next.  They head to the Washington University Halloween Invite to close out the regular season.  Juniata will face host Washington (Mo.) on Friday, Oct. 26 at 8:30 p.m. before taking on Alverno and St. Ambrose on Saturday, Oct. 27.  Matches between the Eagles and Washington (Mo.) have been closely contended in recent years with the Bears winning three of the last five.  In the past five years, three of the matches have gone to five games.
