Sumner named first Juniata women’s volleyball Landmark POW in 2012

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata women's volleyball's Christine Sumner (Dublin, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) earned Landmark Conference Player of the Week honors for her outstanding performances during Juniata's four matches last week, released Monday afternoon. 

Sumner led the Eagles with 2.47 kills per set and a .341 hitting percentage, as she helped Juniata (11-5) to a 3-1 week. She finished the week with a strong showing in the Juniata Invitational with a season-high 17 kills against Franklin & Marshall and 12 terminations against the Tartans of Carnegie Mellon. Sumner, who earned All-Tournament honors, racked-up 14 total blocks last week, including two solo stops versus the Tartans. 

The Eagles host Division II Clarion University on Thursday, September 27, for a 7:00 p.m. match in Kennedy S+RC.
