Eagles defeat Saint Vincent in three sets to remain undefeated

LATROBE, Pa. – No. 9 Juniata College women's volleyball handed Saint Vincent College a 3-0, loss Tuesday evening in Latrobe, Pa to remain undefeated in the 2012 season.

Set scores for the match were 25-18, 25-14 and 25-13.

Juniata's (5-0) senior Kelsey Fuller (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) led the kill production with seven kills. Sophomore Christine Sumner (Dublin, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) recorded six kills, as did sophomore Amelia Kepler (Kane, Pa./Kane Area).

On defense, Rachelle Wiegand (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) sprawled for a team high eight digs, while Fuller scooped-out seven. Libero Brittani Young (Columbia, Pa./Helpfield Area) notched six digs and also served-up two aces. In blocking, Kepler turned down four Bearcat attacks and Courtney Lydick (McKean, Pa./General McLane) denied three.

Juniata will take the rest of the week off before hosting the ASICS Invitational on Friday and Saturday, September 7-8. The Eagles first play No. 5 Wittenberg on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in Kennedy S+RC.
