Women’s volleyball jumps to no. 8 in AVCA Division III Coaches Poll

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata College women's volleyball jumped up to no. 8 on the national American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Coaches Top 25 poll, released Tuesday.

There was considerable shifting in the top 10 from last week's rankings, however Calvin still remains at the top with Emory and Washington St. Louis at No. 2 and three respectively.

Eastern and Wittenberg stayed put at no. 4 and five, while No. 6 Christopher Newport and no. 7 Concordia (Minn.) each bumped up a slot. Rounding out the top ten and checking-in below Juniata is Carthage at no. 9, who made a two spot jump from last week, and Southwestern (Texas) who dropped to no. 11 from no. 6.

Juniata (25-7) clinched its 31st consecutive conference championship last Saturday, Nov. 5, with a 3-0 win over Moravian in the Landmark Conference Semifinals and a 3-1 victory against Susquehanna for the title. Juniata continues postseason play at the NCAA Championship Regionals, hosted by Eastern at Neumann University. The Eagles are set to play Cabrini College in the opening round at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11.
