JUNIATA VOLLEYBALL COMPLETES LANDMARK SWEEP WITH WIN OVER SCRANTON

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Juniata College women's volleyball team completed an unblemished sweep of Landmark Conference foes with a 3-0 win over the University of Scranton, Sunday morning in Baltimore, Md. Game scores were 30-20, 30-21, 30-22.

The Eagles (21-2) complete their Landmark Conference schedule with a 6-0 mark, and will host fourth-seed Moravian College in the semifinals of the Landmark Conference Women's Volleyball Championship on November 2 in Huntingdon.

A total of 15 players saw action in the match, as Juniata head coach Larry Bock continued to use his bench extensively for the second day in a row.

Sophomore Paige Johnston (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) led the Eagles offensively with 12 kills; she was the only Eagle player to finish with a double-digit kill total. Cassie Dickmann (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) and Erin Albert (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) each finished with nine kills. Overall, the Eagles posted a .275 attack percentage, while the best the Royals could muster was a .094 attack percentage.

Five players finished with 10 or more digs, led by Megan Sollenberger (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) with 20 digs to go with three service aces. Steph Strauss (Penn Hills, Pa./Penn Hills) finished with 18 digs and 35 set assists and also had three service aces.

Junior setter Beth Kozak (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) did not play in Sunday's match against Scranton; she was involved involved in an on-court accident with another Juniata player during Saturday's match versus Catholic University.

The Eagles now have the week to prepare for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational, which will take place on October 12-13. Juniata will face #3 UW-Whitewater, #20 UW-La Crosse, and #10 Carthage College during the tournament.
