Barbacci, Correia Earn Fifth-Place Finishes in Second Day of Millersville Metrics
MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- The Juniata women's track and field team concluded the Millersville Metrics on the second day of the event. Saturday was highlighted by fifth-place finishes for Olivia Barbacci in the long jump and Nandee Correia in the shot put. 

Barbacci set a mark of 5.07 meters, her first collegiate long jump mark, to claim fifth place from a field of 27. Josie Kelly had a mark of 4.24 meters to claim 13th place, while Ashley Alfree was unable to set a height. 

Correia earned fifth place in the shot put with a mark of 10.87 meters. Chloe Sauer finished in 11th place with a mark of 10.40 meters, while Kaleah Leisher finished in 28th place with a mark of 8.61 meters. 

Zoe Biles set a pair of personal records in the day. In the 100 meters, she finished in 33rd place with a time of 13.99. Her previous best was 14.50, set at the Shippensburg Mid-Week Meet last season. In the 200 meters, she set a new PR of 28.79 to finish in 41st place. Her previous best time was 32.62, set at the Jim Taylor Invitational at Susquehanna last year. Alfree also set a personal record in the 200 meters with a time of 28.81 to finish a spot behind Biles in 42nd place. 

Rebecca Christophel and Camille McRoberts both raced in the 800 meters. Christophel claimed 14th with a time of 2:32.36, while McRoberts finished in 17th place with a time of 2:34.94. McRoberts also raced in the 1500 meters, claiming 15th place with a time of 5:20.66.  

Kelly finished 15th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.98. Beck Mensch finished 13th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:28.98. 

The jumps trio of Kelly, Alfree, and Barbacci also competed in the pole vault in addition to the long jump. Alfree and Kelly each tied for 22nd place with a mark of 2.40 meters, while Barbacci was unable to set a height. 

Correia, Sauer, Leisher, Emma Coolidge, and Justice Sheaffer all set their first discus throw mark of the year. 

Leisher had the team's best mark at 30.31 meters, earning 14th place. Correia was 22nd with a mark of 27.99 meters, while Sauer was right behind in 23rd place with a mark of 27.40 meters. Coolidge threw 26.80 meters to finish 26th, while Sheaffer was 39th with a mark of 20.23 meters.  

Coolidge and Sheaffer also threw in the javelin throw. Coolidge was 15th with a mark of 31.92 meters, while Sheaffer threw 28.80 meters to claim 20th place.  

The Juniata women's track and field team will compete again on Saturday, April 13th, when they head to Westminster College for the Westminster Invite.
