Freimuth Named Landmark Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – Women's Track and Field senior Julia Freimuth (York, Pa. / Cedar Cliff HS) was one of eight student-athletes honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

With the unprecedented cancellation of spring sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Landmark Conference will be recognizing an athlete from each member institution in each conference-sponsored spring sport for the remainder of the academic year.

Freimuth was a four-year member of the team. She made the Landmark All-Conference Second Team as a part of the record-breaking distance medley relay team at the Indoor Championships her junior year. Their time of 12:55.63 is the fastest DMR time in school history. She also ran the second-fastest time in school history in the 500m, 1:26.35, at the Bison Open at Bucknell in January of her junior year. The senior from York, Pa. also holds the 600m school record with a time of 1:51.33, which she ran at the Highlander Invitational also in January of her junior campaign.  She made the Landmark Academic Honor Roll all three years she was eligible.
