TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata women's track & field team finished in fourth place on the final day of Landmark Conference Championships. Senior, Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa. / Penns Valley) was named Landmark Field Athlete of the Year.
Orndorf took second in the hammer throw with a throw of 38.60m. Faith Nichols (Verona, Pa. / Taylor Allderdice) won the 400m dash with a time of 1:00.21 and Julia Freimuth (York, Pa. / Cedar Cliff HS) finished 11th with a time of 1:06.45. Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass. / Methuen HS) claimed second in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:22.13 while Grace Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg) finished ninth (12:21.47) and Meaghen Stewart (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield) finished 10th (12:24.39). Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Upper Dauphin) finished second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.05.
In the 200m dash, Nichols finished seventh with a time of 27.37 while Holly Caldwell (Milford, Conn. / Jonathan Law) finished 20th (30.34) and Sabrina Kelly (Gilberstville, Pa. / Boyertown Area HS) finished 21st (31.21). In the 800m run, Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Milton Hershey) finished eighth with a time of 2:25.92 while Mellanie Barnes (Chicago, Ill. / Holy Trinity (Ill.)) finished 12th with a time of 2:30.39 and Freimuth finished 15th with a time of 2:22.04. Caitlyn Gasmen (Bridgewater, N.J. / Bridgewater-Raritan) finished eighth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:14.36.
In the 100m dash, Walshaw-Wertz finished 10th (13.33), Caldwell finished 20th (14.87), and Kelly finished 21st (14.99). Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset Area HS) took 16th in the 5000m with a time of 19:42.32. Alli Goulden (Wharton, N.J. / Morris Knolls) finished 20th (20:06.16), Abbie Echard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) was 21st (20:17.71), and Alexis Barge (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) took 22nd (20:34.59).
Juniata placed fifth in the 4x100m relay with a time of 52.75. Juniata claimed fifth in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:16.32.
Orndorf placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 10.72m while Marylauren Davignon (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) placed 11th with a throw of 9.10m. Davignon placed 16th in the hammer throw marking 23.62m. Walshaw-Wertz took ninth in the triple jump with a jump of 10.02m.
