Women's Track and Field in Fourth Place After Day One of Landmark Championships

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Juniata women's track and field team currently sits in fourth place after day one of competition at the Landmark Championships.

Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass./Methuen HS) led the way for the Eagles on the track, placing second in the 10,000m run with a time of 39:24.60. Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa./Somerset Area HS) trailed in seventh place (43:07.47).

Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa./Upper Dauphin) was the top finisher for JC in the field, jumping a distance of 5.07m in the long jump for a second-place finish. 

Yanibel Collado (Freeport, NY/Milton Hershey) took third in the 1500m, running a time of 4:45.49 while Grace Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) followed in ninth place (5:05.72).

Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa./Penns Valley) placed sixth in discus with a 31.73m throw and took ninth in the shot-put event with a throw that measured 10.33m.

The Eagles return to action tomorrow to compete in the final day of the Landmark Championships.
