Women's Track & Field Opens Season at River Hawks Opener

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The women's indoor track and field team opened up their season at the Susquehanna River Hawks opener, Friday afternoon.

Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa. / Penns Valley) was the top finisher in weight throw, she marked a 12.37m and Amily Buenrrostro finished ninth in the event. In the long-jump Meadow Walshaw-Wertz (Sunbury, Pa. / Line Mountain) finished fourth she also finished fifth in the triple jump marking 9.46m. Ordorf was also the top finisher in the shot put, marking 10.3m, while Marylauren Davignon (Huntingdon / Huntingdon Area) finished tenth and Buenrrostro finished 15th. 

On the running side of things, Walshaw-Wertz finished first in the 60m hurdles, while Jennifer Roxby came in fourth. The Eagles came in second in the 4x200 meter relay finishing with a time of 2:03.98. In the 400 meter, dash Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Taylor Allderdice) finished sixth. 

There were also a few records and PR's set during the meet. Orndorf set a new Juniata record in the weight throw, she won the meet by almost seven feet. Walshaw-Wertz ran a 9.99 in the 60m hurdles to move her to number three all time at Juniata. Nichols ran an indoor best in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.31. 

The Eagles don't return to action until January 19th where they will compete in the Orange & Maron Classic at Susquehanna.
