BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Juniata women's track and field team competed in the Landmark Championships this weekend.
Yanibel Collado (Freeport, NY/Forest Hills) was the top finisher for the Eagles, placing 2nd in the 5000-meter race with her time of 18:11.90. Collado's time moved her into second place in the Juniata record book.
In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass./Methuen HS) finished 5th with her 12:01.70 time. Meaghen Stewart (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) followed just behind in 6th place (12:26.79).
Claudia Sacks (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) placed 6th in the 800-meter with a time of 2:22.94. Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) ran a time of 1:02.46 in the 400-meter for an 8th place finish.
The team of Stewart, Nichols, Sacks, and Julia Freimuth (York, Pa./Cedar Cliff) placed 4th in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:13.50.
In javelin, Kylie Orndorf's (Milheim, Pa./Penns Valley) throw measured 38.11m, the 4th best in Juniata's history. Suzy Badorf-England (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg High School) placed 7th in the event (32.69m).
The team finished the meet in 6th place.
