BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Eagles competed in the first day of the Landmark Championships, ending the day in 5th place.
The top finisher for Juniata was Claudia Sacks (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) in the 1500-meter race. Sacks ran a time of 4:45.77 to place 3rd and was followed closely behind by Yanibel Collado (Freeport, NY/Forest Hills) in 4th place (4:48.03). These times bumped Sacks to the second-place spot in Juniata's records and Collado to third.
Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass./Methuen HS) placed 5th in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 42:05.
In the field, Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa./Penns Valley) placed 7th in discus with a throw that measured 30.12m. Kaitlyn Young (Mount Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) followed in 8th place (29.81m).
Ashley Waterman (Avondale, Pa./Kennett) had a throw that measured 36.04m in the hammer event to place her 8th.
The team will compete again tomorrow in the second day of the Landmark Championships.
