Eagles Compete at Widener Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. – The women's track and field team competed at the Widener Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa./Penns Valley) was the top finisher for the Eagles with her 5th place performance in the javelin event with a throw that measured 34.80m. Orndorf also finished 12th in discus (31.14m) with Kaitlyn Young (Mount Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) following in 16th place (30.33m).

Yanibel Collado (Freeport, NY/Forest Hills) put forth a strong showing in the 1500-meter race, placing 10th with a time of 4:50.12. In the 3000-meter steeple chase, Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass./Methuen HS) finished 7th with her time of 11:55.95. Meaghen Stewart (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) ran a time of 12:37.79 to place 14th in the race.

In the 200-meter, Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) placed 27th (28.04). Nichols, Claudia Sacks (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), Julia Freimuth (York, Pa./Cedar Cliff), and Caitlyn Gasmen (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) combined efforts to finish 10th in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:19.73.

The Eagles will return to action next weekend at the Paul Kaiser Invitational at Shippensburg University.
