SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Eagles competed at the 3rd Annual Shippensburg University Invite on Wednesday.
Claudia Sacks (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) was the top finisher for team, placing first in the 1500-meter race with a time of 4:54.72.
In the 3000-meter race, Yanibel Collado (Freeport, NY/Forest Hills) finished 5th with her time of 10:46.83. Meaghen Stewart (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) followed behind in 11th place (11:34.39), Alli Goulden (Wharton, NJ/Morris Krolls) in 13th (11:46.49), and Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa./Somerset Area HS) in 14th (12:10.65).
Caitlyn Gasmen (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) ran a time of 1:15.70 in the 400-meter hurdles for a 5th place finish. Gasmen, along with Kaitlyn Cosby (Frederick, MD/Frederick), Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice), and Julia Freimuth (York, Pa./Cedar Cliff), was also part of the 2nd place finishing 4x100-meter relay team that placed 2nd with a time of 53.56
In field events, Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa./Penns Valley) placed 12th in discus with a throw that reached 29.86m. Kaitlyn Young (Mount Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) was just behind in 13th place with a throw of 28.58m. Young also placed 13th in the hammer event (32.46m).
