Women's Track and Field Team Competes at Greyhound Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Eagles competed at the Greyhound Invitational this weekend at Moravian College.

In the field, Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa./Penns Valley) placed 17th in the hammer event with a throw that measured 28.81m. She was followed by fellow Eagle Kaitlyn Young (Mount Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) in 21st place (27.85m) and Ashley Waterman (Avondale, Pa./Kennett) in 22nd place (27.32).

Orndorf also competed in discus where she threw a distance of 32.07 for a 16th place finish. Young finished in 23rd and Kelly Leamer (Altoona, Pa./Bellwood) in 29th. In javelin, Orndorf was again the top thrower for the Eagles, placing 12th with a 34.41m throw. Suzy Badorf-England (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg High School) followed closely behind in 15th place, reaching a distance of 33.05m.

Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass./Methuen HS) finished first in the 10000-meter race, running a time of 41:41.86. In the 800-meter, Claudia Sacks (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) placed 10th with a 2:25.77 time. 

Allison Goulden (Wharton, NJ/Morris Krolls) competed in the 1500-meter race, finishing with a time of 5:27.88 in 20th place. Rebecca Herwig (Somerset, Pa./Somerset Area HS) placed 24th. Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) placed 18th in the 400-meter race with Sacks behind in 22nd place.

The Eagles will return to competition April 19th at the Shippensburg Invite.
