MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – The Eagles placed eighth at the Messiah Invitational on Saturday.
The 4x800-meter team of Yanibel Collado (Freeport, NY/Forest Hills), Claudia Sacks (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), Meaghen Stewart (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield), and Chelsea Chizmar (Johnstown, Pa./Forest Hills) placed second with a time of 10:04.78.
Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) placed 15th in the 200-meter race, running a time of 65.86. Nichols also placed tenth in 400-meter (65.86) with Julia Freimuth (York, Pa./Cedar Cliff) following behind in 12th and Chizmar in 16th.
In the 1500-meter race, Sacks placed fourth at 4:57.97 with Collado following closely in fifth place (4:59.83). Stewart finished in 25th place.
Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass./Methuen HS) finished the 3000-meter stepplechase in fourth place, docking a time of 12:16.27.
In the field, Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa./Penns Valley) threw a distance of 35.88-meters in the javelin event to place her third. Suzy Badorf-England (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg High School) finished 12th in the event. Orndorf also placed 14th in discus with a throw that measured 30.63m. Kaitlyn Young (Mount Ephrain, NJ/Audubon) placed 26th in the event (26.86m).
Katie Fisher (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) cleared a height of 1.48m in the high jump, placing her sixth.
The Juniata women's track and field team will compete again next Saturday at the Greyhound Invitational.
