Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Open Season at Jim Taylor Invite

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- They had to wait an extra week but the Juniata Women's Track and Field Team began its 2017 outdoor season at the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna on Saturday. Four Eagles finished in the top 10.

 

The highest finish came from Yanibel Collado (Freeport, NY/Forest Hills). She was seventh in the 5000 meter run with a time of 18:55.57. Fellow Eagle Claudia Sacks (Allentown, Pa./Allentoen Central Catholic) was ninth in a time of 18:56.01. Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass./Methuen) ran 19:24 to place 12th. Kaitlyn Cosby (Frederick, Md./Frederick) had a personal best time of 30.05 in the 200 meter dash.

 

In the field events, Kaitlyn Young (Mount Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) was ninth in the discus throw with a personal best throw of 31.76. Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa./Penns Valley) was 10th. She measured a 30.54-meter toss. Orndorff was 13th in the javelin throw with a measurement of 33.99 meters. 

 

Juniata will next compete at the Frostburg Invitational next Saturday. The meet begins at 11:00 a.m.
