Women's Indoor Competes in Orange & Maroon Classic

THE HEADLINE: Juniata's men and women's indoor track and field team competed in Susquehanna's Indoor Orange & Maroon Classic on Saturday, Jan. 21.

TOP THROWERS: The Indoor Orange & Maroon Classic opened up with the women's weight throw. Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa./Penns Valley) placed 18th out of 30 throwers with her 9.69-meter throw.

Ashley Waterman's (Avondale, Pa./Kennett) 9.73-meter shot put landed her at 18th out of 41 contestants. Orndorf followed in 20th, behind an Elizabethtown thrower. She recorded a 9.61-meter throw. Freshman Marylauren Davignon (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) placed 31st overall with a 7.67-meter shot put.

TOP JUMPERS: Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) completed a 4.38-meter long jump, putting her at 20th out of 31 jumpers. She went on to tie for 19th in the high jump (1.37m).

TOP RUNNERS: Juniata's distance medley team placed third. Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y./Forest Hills), Julia Freimuth (York, Pa./Cedar Cliff), Chelsea Chizmar (Johnstown, Pa./Forest Hills) and Azia Kalil (Methuen, Mass./Methuen) recorded a time of 13:45.65, a full fifteen seconds before the next relay finishers.

Claudia Sacks (Allentown, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) earned a third place spot in the one mile run. The freshman recorded a time of 5:28.50.

UP NEXT: The Eagles will compete in the Bison Open & Multi at Bucknell University on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28.
