Women's Track and Field Shines at Paul Kaiser Classic

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -  The Juniata women's track and field team competed amongst Division II and III competitors at the Paul Kaiser Track and Field Classic Saturday.

Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) finished 18th in the 200-meter dash at 26.91.

In the 800-meter run, Jecenia Duran (Temple, Pa. / Olley Valley) took 27th at 2:26.83. 

Allyson Kopera (Hastings, Pa. / Northern Cambria) led the Eagles with a 16th place finish in the 1500-meter run at 5:00.56. Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Forest Hills) followed at 5:01.13 to take 18th

In the 5000-meter run, Alli Goulden (Wharton, N.J. / Morris Krolls) finished with a time of 21:11.93 to take 19th

Caitlyn Gasmen (Bridgewater, N.J. / Bridgewater-Raritan) placed 18th in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:14.97. 

The 4x100-meter relay team of Erin Gaines (Hagerstown, Md. / Williamsport) , Gasmen, Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Taylor Allderdice) and Sellers finished in ninth at 52.69. 

Juniata's 4x4 team took seventh at 4:13.92. Coming together for the 4x4 was Duran, Nichols, Gaines and Kopera. 

Katie Fisher (Rochester, N.Y. / Greece Athena) finished in a tie for 12th in the high jump at 1.48m.

In the triple jump, Sellers took 20th place at 10.03m. Katy Leamer (Altoona, Pa. / Bellwood-Antis) followed in 21st with a leap of 9.85m. 

Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa. / Penns Valley) placed 25th in the shot put at 10.06m. Sarah Rhodes (Bloomfield, N.Y. / Bloomfield) finished in 29th at 9.66m. 

Orndorf took 18th in the discus at 29.96m, followed by Kaitlyn Young (Mount Ephraim, N.J. / Audubon) in 26th at 28.35m and Rhodes in 32nd at 23.28m. Rhodes also finished in 21st in the hammer throw with a mark of 35.16m. 

In the javelin, Orndorf led Juniata once more with a 12th place finish at 35.05m.
