Women's Indoor Earns Three Top-10 Performances at Susquehanna Open

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Juniata women's track and field team were led by three top-10 performances at the Susquehanna Open Saturday.

Freshman Christen Cooper (Chester, NJ / West Morris Central) placed 18th in the weight throw, throwing a distance of 11.32m. Senior Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, PA / Huntingdon Area) reached a distance of 4.64m in the long jump, placing 15th. Sellers also placed 8th in the triple jump with a distance of 9.98m and 22nd in the 200m dash. Fellow junior Katie Fisher (Rochester, NY / Greece Athena) cleared a height of 1.42m in the high jump, placing 13th in the event. Fisher also placed 17th in the long jump.

Freshman Yanibel Collado (Freeport, NY / Forest Hills) finished 8th in the 3000m run with a time of 11:26.69. Senior Jecenia Duran (Temple, PA / Olley Valley) ran a time of 2:36.86 in the 800m race, placing 23rd. Duran combined efforts with Erin Gaines (Hagerstown, MD / Williamsport), Meaghen Steweart (Greensburg, PA / Hempfield), and Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, PA / Taylor Allderdics) to place 6th in the 4x400 relay, finishing with a time of 4:25.98.

The Eagles will compete next Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Landmark Conference Championships.  Competition will begin at 11a.m.
