Eagles Record Top-10 Finishes at Susquehanna Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Juniata women's track and field team impressed on the track at the Susquehanna Invitational and recorded several top-10 finishes at the Susquehanna Invitational Friday night. 

Christen Cooper (Chester, NJ / West Morris Central) finished 14th in the weight throw at 9.84m. Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa.) finished 14th in the shot put with a toss of 9.82m.

In the long jump Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) finished in ninth place at 4.62m. Katie Fisher (Rochester, N.Y. / Greece Athena) followed in 15th at 4.30m and Cheyenne Brown (Tunkhannock, Pa. / Tunkhannock) in 16th at 4.28m. 

Sellers also took ninth in the triple jump at 9.76m.

Yanibel Collado (Freeport, N.Y. / Forest Hills) ran a 5:32.39 in the mile for a tenth place finish. Her time moved her to the number five spot in the all-time Juniata record books. Collado edged out Nancy Hayes who recorded a time of 5:35.04 in 2006. Collado also  took 18th in the 800m at 2:32.92. 

Allyson Kopera (Hastings, Pa. / Northern Cambria) finished 17th in the 3000m run with a time of 11:36.20. 

The 4x800m relay team of Kopera, Jecenia Duran (Temple, Pa. / Olley Valley), Vanessa Hurst (Ephrata, Pa. / Ephrata) and Chelsea Chizmar (Johnstown, Pa. / Forest Hils) took second with a time of 10:45.58.

The Eagles return to Selinsgrove next weekend for the Susquehanna Open at 9:30am in their final meet before the Landmark Conference Championships.
