Women's Outdoor Finishes in Fifth at Landmark Championships

SELINSGROVE, PA – The Juniata women's outdoor track and field team took fifth place at the Landmark Conference Championships. The two-day event at Susquehanna University concluded Sunday, May 3.

Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, PA / Huntingdon Area) won the long jump for Juniata on day one with a leap of 5.13 meters. On day two, Sellers took eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.05 seconds. Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) was the winner of the high jump with a measurement of 1.57 meters.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Erin Gaines (Hagerstown, MD / Williamsport HS) ran a 1:10.75 to take fifth place. Gaines was followed by Maggie Pozenel (Croton-on-Hudson, NY / Croton-Harmon) who took sixth at 1:13.89.

Allyson Kopera (Hastings, PA / Northern Cambria) finished fourth in the steeplechase with a time of 11:49.65.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Lauren Lock (Huntingdon, PA / Juniata), Bailey Swogger (Bellwood / Bellwood-Antis), Kaitlyn Cosby (Frederick, MD / Frederick) and Sellers ran a 51.30 to finish third.

Juniata's 4x400 team took fifth. Jecenia Duran (Temple, PA / Olley Valley), Kopera, Gaines and Lock came in fifth at 4:20.09.

Sellers placed fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.33 meters.

Chelsey Beaver (Shamokin Dam, PA / Selinsgrove Area) threw a 38.05 in the hammer throw to finish seventh.

Juniata finished the event with a total of 68 points, just six points shy of third place Catholic.
