Long jump leads Eagles into Day Two in Fourth Place at Landmark Championships

SELINSGROVE, PA – The Juniata women's outdoor track and field team holds fourth place after day one of the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships. The Eagles, with 26 points, are behind Susquehanna (39), Elizabethtown (47) and Moravian (80).

The long jump was the most successful event of the day for Juniata, totaling 16 points towards their total score. Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) took first place in the long jump with a leap of 5.13 meters. Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, NY / Greece Athena) finished fourth in the event, jumping 5.07 meters. Cheyenne Brown (Tunkhannock, PA / Tunkhannock took eighth place at 4.86 meters. Sellers also advanced to finals in the 200-meter dash. 

Haley Schneider (West Chester, PA / Bishop Shanahan) put four points on the board for the Eagles with a fifth place finish in the 10,000-meter run. Schneider ran 41:51.53.

In the pole vault, Abigail Rosenberger (Duncannon, PA / Susquenita) cleared 2.44 meters to earn third place and contribute six points to Juniata.

Day two of the championships begins Sunday, May 3 at 9am, starting with the field events.
