Women's Outdoor Records Eight Top-10 Finishes at Widener

CHESTER, PA – The Juniata women's outdoor track and field team competed in the two-day Widener Invitational April 17-18 at the George A. Hansell Track in the Leslie C. Quick Stadium. 

The Eagles trip was highlighted by eight top-10 finishes and a new Landmark qualification. 

Allyson Kopera (Hastings, PA / Northern Cambria) qualified for the Landmark Championship in the steeplechase with a time of 12:07.96. Kopera placed fifth in the event. 

In the hammer throw, Chelsey Beaver (Shamokin Dam, PA / Selinsgrove Area) finished ninth with a toss of 33.01 meters. Thalia Chance-Chin (Tampa Bay, FL / Tampa Prep) threw 31.01 meters and came in 13th. Beaver took eighth in the shot put at 10.23 meters.

Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, NY / Greece Athena) earned third place in the high jump with a leap of 1.49 meters. 

In the long jump, Cheyenne Brown (Tunkhannock, PA / Tunkhannock) led the way for the Eagles in ninth place at 4.82 meters. Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, PA / Huntingdon Area) finished right behind in tenth place at 4.79 meters. Fisher took 13th at 4.57 meters.

Abigail Rosenberger (Duncannon, PA / Susquenita) placed ninth in the pole vault with a clearance of 2.37 meters.

Juniata's 4x100-meter relay team took eighth place and recorded a time of 53.39 seconds.

Juniata's final meet before the Landmark Championships is the Paul Kaiser Invitational Saturday, April 25 at Shippensburg.
