CHESTER, Pa. – Senior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) continued her record-breaking spree as the Juniata College women's track and field team competed at the Widener Invitational on Saturday.
In the 1500 meter run, Woods crossed the line in 4:39.61 to finish sixth. The time surpassed the record she set earlier this season at the Juniata Invitational. Woods also competed in the 800 meter run, where she placed 13th out of 55 competitors.
In the 200 meter dash, senior Paula Pryor (Westbrookville, N.Y./Burke Catholic) picked up a third place finish in a personal best time of 26.15 seconds. Pryor also improved on her 400 meter time to finish fourth in 59.03 seconds.
Junior Courtney Peterson (York, Pa./Central York) shaved over 13 seconds off her previous best time to finish sixth in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
Freshman Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) cleared a height of 1.45 meters to place second. Sophomore Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) captured fourth in the triple jump finished sixth in the long jump. Freshman Katy Leamer (Altoona, Pa./Bellwood-Antis) placed fifth in the long jump with a personal best jump of 9.64 meters.
In the hammer throw, junior Chelsey Beaver (Shamokin Dam, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) placed second, while sophomore Sarah Rhodes (Bloomfield, N.Y./Bloomfield) finished in fourth. Rhodes picked up a ninth place finish in the shot put. Beaver also finished ninth in the discus.
The Eagles gear up for competition at the Paul Kaiser Invitational on Saturday, April 26, their final meet before the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4.
