FROSTBURG, Md. – The Juniata College women's track & field team competed at the Bobcat Invitational at Frostburg University on Saturday. The student-athletes racked up a total of nine top-six finishes at the meet.
In the 1500 meter run, senior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) placed first in 4:55.25. Junior Alyssa Cousins (Lemont, Pa./State College Area) came in third, while classmate Courtney Peterson (York, Pa./Central York) followed in fifth. In the 800 meter run, Cousins placed fifth.
The 4x400 meter team of junior Caitlyn Pingatore (Windber, Pa./Windber), sophomore Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area), Woods, and sophomore Erin Gaines (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport High School) placed third.
In the triple jump, Sellers placed third and freshman Katy Leamer (Altoona, Pa./Bellwood-Antis) placed fifth overall. Leamer also competed in the long jump, where she came in sixth at a personal best distance of 4.24 meters.
In the javelin throw, junior Kylie Berrena (Petersburg, Pa./Juniata Valley) finished third with a distance of 29.91 meters.
The Eagles next travel to compete in the Messiah Invitational on Saturday, April 12.
