TOWSON, Md. – Senior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) has been named the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar Athlete for women's indoor track and field, the organization announced Thursday. Honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors and sports information directors based on academic and athletic accomplishments.

Woods is a six-time Landmark All-Conference honoree and two-time Landmark 5000 meter run champion. She holds the school inddoor records in the mile, 3000, and 5000 meter runs. Woods' time in the 3000 also set a new Landmark Conference record.

Over the course of her final indoor season, Woods won four events and earned three second place finishes. Woods was named indoor track player of the week four times in her career. Woods also earned Landmark Academic Honor Roll recognition during all three years she was eligible. She was named to the 2013-14 winter All-Sportsmanship Team which recognizes student-athletes who epitomize the ideals of sportsmanship.

Woods also competes in cross country and outdoor track & field at Juniata. She was named Landmark Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year after winning the 6k at the 2013 Landmark Cross Country Championships.

"She doesn't look for ways out," said head coach Jon Cutright. "She looks for ways to do things and get better all the time. That translates across all spectrums of her life."

Woods will graduate with a degree in wildlife conservation.
