SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Juniata College women's track & field team was bolstered by strong individual performances at the Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday, finishing fourth overall. Senior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) and freshman Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) both earned first place finishes for the Eagles.

Woods earned the first medal for Juniata when she won the 5000 meters. Her time of 18:26.37 broke the school record of 18:33.31 that she set on Feb. 11, 2012 at the Bucknell Winter Classic. Woods also captured first place in the 3000 meters in 10:52.43 and placed third in the mile with a time of 5:22.66.

Fisher placed first in the high jump at 1.47 meters. This victory continued Juniata's streak of winning the high jump since the inaugural year of the Landmark Conference. Fisher also competed in the long jump, where she finished sixth overall with a mark of 4.75 meters.

Sophomore Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) competed in both the long jump and the triple jump. She finished fourth in both events with jumps of 4.96 meters and 10.05 meters, respectively.

Senior Paula Pryor (Westbrookville, N.Y./Burke Catholic) set new program records in both individual events that she competed in at the championship meet. In the 400 meters, Pryor finished in a time of 1:00.28 to place second overall. She also came in fifth in the 200 meter dash, crossing the line in 27.04.

The team of junior Emily Wolf (York, Pa./Central York), sophomore Erin Gaines (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport High School), sophomore Jecenia Duran (Temple, Pa./Olley Valley), and junior Alyssa Cousins (Lemont, Pa./State College Area) finished in second in the distance medley relay. They clocked in at 13:46.96, just over one second behind the first place team.

In the 4x200 meter relay, junior Caitlyn Pingatore (Windber, Pa./Windber), junior Evelyn Edwards (Carbondale, Pa./Carbondale), sophomore Shalen Perehinec (Altoona, Pa./Altoona), and Pryor placed fourth overall in 1:52.15. The same foursome also teamed up for the 4x400 meter relay, where they finished fourth in 4:21.03.

Junior Chelsey Beaver (Shamokin Dam, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 11.00 meters. In the pole vault, sophomore Abigail Rosenberger (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) finished sixth overall at a height of 2.14 meters.
