Woods Continues to Set Records at Susquehanna Open

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Senior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) led the Juniata College women's track & field team to a strong showing at the Susquehanna University Indoor Open. Woods placed second overall in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:19.78. This mark broke the program and Landmark record of 10:23.06 she set at the Bison Open & Multi on Feb. 22.

 

Juniata's 4x200 meter relay, comprised of juniors Evelyn Edwards (Carbondale, Pa./Carbondale) and Caitlyn Pingatore (Windber, Pa./Windber), sophomore Shalen Perehinec (Altoona, Pa./Altoona), and senior Paula Pryor (Westbrookville, N.Y./Burke Catholic), finished fourth while recording a season best time of 1:54.09. Pryor also captured fifth in the 200 meter dash with a personal best time of 27.56.

 

In the field, junior Chelsey Beaver (Shamokin Dam, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) recorded a distance of 11.93m in the weight throw to place ninth overall. Beaver placed tenth in the shot put with a mark of 10.26m. In the long jump, sophomore Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) and freshman Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) placed tenth and 11th, respectively. Sellers had a jump of 4.75m and Fisher recorded a personal best leap of 4.72m. Sellers also picked up tenth place in the triple jump with a distance of 9.73m. Fisher finished the high jump in fourth place, clearing the bar at a height of 1.52m.

 

The Eagles return to action Saturday, March 1 when they compete at the Landmark Conference Championship, hosted by Susquehanna University.
