MARIETTA, OH – The Juniata women's track and field team competed in the Marietta College Open Saturday. Senior Paula Pryor (Westbrookville, N.Y./Burke Catholic) broke the school record in the 300 meter dash, placing third. Pryor's time of 43.89 beat the previous record of 47.28 set by Caitlin Hinson at the 2005 Dickinson DuCharme Invitational.

In the 1000 meter run, junior Alyssa Cousins (Lemont, Pa./State College Area) crossed the line fourth with a time of 3:31.83. Fellow junior Haley Schneider (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) followed in seventh place.

In the field, freshman Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) placed fourth in the high jump with a 1.52m leap. This jump places Fisher as the fourth best performer in school history in the event. Junior Chelsey Beaver (Shamokin Dam, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) finished in the top half of the field in the shot put with a mark of 10.11m, placing 14th.

The Eagles next travel to Bucknell University for the 16th Annual Bison Open on Friday, Jan. 31, with events starting at 4 p.m. The meet will continue on Feb. 1 at 9:30 a.m.
