SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The women's tennis team returned home with a win against Susquehanna, 8-1 on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles swept doubles play as Medina Yessenaliyeva and Celia Navarro de Torres won 8-2 in first doubles. Charley Madlock and Marilyn Ogof won 8-5 in second doubles and Maggie Ackley and Shveta Kalathur beat their opponents 8-1 in third doubles.
In singles play, Yessenaliyeva swept 6-0, 6-0 in first singles and Navarro de Torres won 6-1, 6-2 in second singles. Ackley beat her River Hawk rival 6-0, 6-1 in third singles and Madlock added a point in fourth singles, winning 7-5, 6-0. Ogof dropped fifth singles, 4-6, 5-7, but Kalathur won in extra points 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
The Eagles will celebrate senior day this Friday at 4:00 pm.
