KINGSTON, Pa. – The women's tennis team dropped to conference opponent Wilkes Saturday at TK Academy, falling 2-7 against the Colonels.
Wilkes defeated the Eagles in each doubles match. Medina Yessenaliyeva and Celia Navarro de Torres fell 6-8 in first doubles, and Charley Madlock and Marilyn Ogof dropped second doubles to 6-8. In third doubles, Shveta Kalathur and Maggie Ackley lost 2-8.
Yessenaliyeva beat her Colonel opponent in first singles 6-3, 6-1 and Ackley won in sixth singles 6-1, 6-1. Navarro de Torres dropped second singles 0-6, 6-4, 9-11 while Madlock fell 3-8 in third singles. Ogof lost in fourth singles 0-6, 0-6 and Kalathur was beaten 2-6, 0-6 in fifth singles.
The Eagles are back in action tomorrow to host Carlow at noon.
