Women's Tennis Takes Down Penn College, 9-0

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata women's tennis team defeated Penn College, 9-0, Sunday morning.

Juniata swept through doubles play to take a 3-0 lead into singles. Kelley Appow (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) and Kady Lohr (Shanksville, Pa. / -) won, 8-2 at first doubles, Emily Dowler (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) and Emily Sarro (Woodside, Pa. / Dallastown) had a close, 8-4 victory in second doubles, and Mary Fairfield (Staunton, Va. / Eastern Mennonite HS) and Emma Kramer (Chalfont, Pa. / Pennridge) came away with an 8-1 win at third doubles. 

The Eagles extended their lead to 4-0 after Dowler had an easy, 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles. Appow won in close sets with a 6-3, 6-3 win at second singles, Lohr claimed another victory for the Eagles as she won, 6-2, 6-1 at third singles, and Sarro swept her opponent, 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles. Fairfield won, 6-2, 6-2 at fifth singles and Kramer won, 6-1, 6-2 at sixth singles. 

Juniata returns to the court, Saturday, February 29th at 1:00 PM as they travel to Hood College.
