Women's Tennis Picks up First Win of Spring Season

TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata women's tennis team defeated Goucher in a Landmark Conference match, Saturday afternoon.

Lauren Lucas (Holidaysburg, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) and Katherine Conklin (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) won, 8-6 at first doubles. Anjali Mistry (Mount Holly, N.J. / Rancocas) and Savannah Bailey (Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery) won, 8-5 at second doubles. Emily Dowler (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) and Kelley Appow (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) won, 8-4 at third doubles. 

Lucas won, 6-1, 6-1 at first singles and Conklin got a 6-4, 5-1, 1-0 (10-7) win at second singles. Mistry earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at third singles and Bailey won, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 at fourth singles. 

The Eagles return to action tomorrow as they face Catholic at 10:00AM.
