Women's Tennis Suffers Loss to Union

HILTON HEAD, S.C.- The Juniata women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to Union (N.Y.), Thursday.

Lauren Lucas (Holidaysburg, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) and Katherine Conklin (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) lost, 8-1 at first doubles, Emily Dowler (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) and Kelley Appow (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) lost, 8-2 at second doubles, and Grace Lewis (Northampton, Pa. / Northampton Area HS) and Jana Wegener (Lower Saxon / Germany) lost, 9-7 at third doubles. 

Lucas lost, 6-3, 6-1 at first singles, Conklin lost, 6-1, 6-2 at second singles, and Dowler lost, 6-3, 6-2 at third singles. Appow lost, 6-3, 6-1 at fourth singles, Lewis lost, 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles, and Wegener lost, 7-5, 6-4 at sixth singles. 

The Eagles return to action tomorrow as they wrap up their spring break trip. They will face St. Thomas (Minn.) at 3:30PM.
