HILTON HEAD, S.C.- The Juniata women's tennis team opened their spring season with a loss to Carroll University on the first day of their spring break trip.
Lauren Lucas (Holidaysburg, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) and Katherine Conklin (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) lost, 8-4 at first doubles, Emily Dowler (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) and Kelley Appow (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) lost, 8-2 at second doubles, and Grace Lewis (Northampton, Pa. / Northampton Area HS) and Jana Wegener (Lower Saxon / Germany) lost, 8-2 at third doubles.
Lucas lost, 6-2, 6-2 at first singles, Conklin lost, 6-0, 6-1 at second singles, and Dowler lost, 6-1, 6-1 at third singles. Appow lost, 6-2, 6-0 at fourth singles, Lewis lost, 6-2, 6-0 at fifth singles, and Wegener lost, 6-0, 6-3 at sixth singles.
The Eagles will continue their trip in Hilton Head, S.C. as they take on Hollins tomorrow at 1PM.
