Women's Tennis Tied for Sixth in Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata women's tennis team was selected sixth in this year's preseason poll.

Scranton takes the top spot in the preseason poll as they are seated first with 58 points, behind them is Moravian (50), Drew (49), Elizabethtown (42), Catholic (33), tied for sixth is Juniata (16) and Goucher (16), and in the eighth spot is Susquehanna with seven points. 

The Eagles have seven returning athletes with junior Lauren Lucas (Holidaysburg, Pa./Altoona Area HS) being one of the top returners. In the 2017 fall season, Lucas was named Landmark athlete of the week and in the 2016-17 season she was named to the Landmark conference first team. During her sophomore season, Lucas won four of her six Landmark matches. Other returning players include junior Savannah Bailey (Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery) who went 5-4 at doubles last season and senior Katharine Conklin (Freehold, N.J. / Freehold Township) who went 6-10 in singles last season
