HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata College women's tennis team swept St. Vincent College, 9-0, Thursday afternoon.
Lauren Lucas (Hollidaysburg, Pa./ Altoona Area HS) and Katharine Conklin (Freehold, NJ/ Freehold Township) won 8-0 at first doubles. Anjali Mistry (Mount Holly, NJ./ Rancocas) and Savannah Bailey (Rockville, Md./ Richard Montgomery) won 8-2 at second doubles. Grace Lewis (Northampton, Pa./ Northampton Area HS) and Soumya Polavarapu (Bridgewater, NJ/ Bridgewater Raritan) won 8-1 at third doubles.
Lucas won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, Conklin won 6-7, (5-7), 7-5, 10-5 at second singles, and Mistry won 6-1, 7-5 at third singles. Bailey won 6-1, 6-2 at fourth singles, Franziska Stoffel (Bad Berleburg/Germany) won 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles, and Lewis won 6-0, 6-0 at sixth singles.
The Eagles return to play at Messiah College on Monday, October 9th at 4:00.
