Women’s Tennis Starts Season With a Win

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Juniata College women's tennis team won 8-1 at Lycoming, Saturday afternoon in Williamsport, Pa.

Katharine Conklin (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township) and Lauren Lucas (Holidaysburg, Pa./Altoona Area HS) won 8-6 at first doubles while Grace Lewis (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area HS) and Emily Dailer won 9-8 at third doubles.

Lucas won 6-4, 6-1 at first singles; Conklin won 6-1, 6-4 at second singles; Amali Mishy won in 6-4, 6-1, 6-3 at third singles; Savannah Bailey (Rochville, Md./Richard Montgomery) won 7-5, 6-0 at fourth singles; Franz Stoeffel won 6-2, 6-2 at fifth singles; and Lewis won 6-2, 7-6, 8-6 at sixth singles. 

The Eagles return to action, at home against Penn State Harrisburg, Friday at 3:30.
