Women's Tennis Falls to Goucher

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The women's tennis team fell to the Goucher Gophers 5-4 in a close competition.

The duo of Lauren Lucas (Holidaysburg, Pa,/Altoona Area HS) and Savannah Bailey (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) won their match 8-2 in second doubles being the only pair to defeat their opponents in doubles play.

Lucas swept past her competitor 6-3, 6-1 in first singles alongside Rachel Yurchisin(Cleveland, OH/Padua Franciscan) (6-4, 6-3) in second singles and Vienna Cordier (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) (6-0, 6-1) in the third spot. Bailey, Kelley Appow (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township), and Souyma Polavarapu (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater Raritan) dropped their matches for the day.

The Eagles travel to Drew tomorrow for the team's last conference match of the season.
